Security & data handling

CutSwitch works with files on your Mac. Account services and optional cloud AI features have different data needs, explained below.

1. Your editing workflow

Paste or drag in your audio and video files, map speakers, then export your edited podcast to Final Cut Pro or CapCut. You can also start with a Final Cut Pro XML export.

Local editing uses the source media on your Mac. The optional Social Reels cloud request contains transcript information and editing context rather than source audio or video files.

2. Optional cloud AI

When enabled and used, cloud AI features send transcript text, speaker labels, timing information, and relevant episode or editing context through CutSwitch’s servers to OpenAI for editing suggestions. Generated titles, summaries, and source references may be saved to reuse results and account for credits.

This is separate from local media processing. See the Privacy Policy for data categories, providers, retention, and your choices.

3. Accounts, billing, and support

• Accounts: Supabase handles sign-in, subscription records, usage, and saved analysis results.
• Payments: Stripe processes payments and subscriptions. CutSwitch does not store full card numbers.
• Support: We receive the information and attachments you choose to submit. Avoid including passwords or unrelated private information.
• Affiliate attribution: When connected, Rewardful can attribute referrals after the applicable cookie consent.

4. Website security

The website uses HTTPS. Account and administrative access are checked on the server, and payment details are handled through Stripe. Security also depends on your device and the service providers involved; no internet service can guarantee complete security.

5. Report a security issue

Use the support form with the subject Security report. Include steps to reproduce the issue and any relevant, redacted logs.
